Diamond, Sprint and the internet sharing fiasco

Hey all! I am a proud owner of a Sprint Mogul with the "everything" plan from Sprint. Since I've got this terrific device, I've never payed extra for my "phone as modem" service. It has always worked.
I just got a Diamond and I asked Sprint to keep the same plan I have, but now it would not let me use my phone-as-mode on my Diamond (I need this capability really bad) because "my phone does not support it"!!! After arguing with the Sp. Rep, he said my plan does not include that service and if I wanted it would cost me $30 more per month!!! It's already $99!!
So, I need to know a workaround in order to use my diamond as "phone as a modem", I am sure it's possible, and someone already have done it. I've tried the fixes for the Mogul but did not work on the diamond.
Could anybody point me to a solution? O should I wait for the G1?

How do you know that internet sharing is possible on the G1?

internet sharing wont work on t mo too, unless you sign up for the $40 data plan. if you keep the t zone plan, you wont be able to access the net, since port 80 is closed off to t zone user.

Then, I am stuck of giving $30/month more to Sprint in order to have the Diamond, or keep my Mogul as it is. I feel like I'd be paying $30/month to use the Diamond HTC. I can believe I have the same plan and my Mogul would let me use phone-as-modem but my Diamond won't.
No solution for this?

Thank you DomSim, if it comes down to that, I will buy it. It's profit at the end, one time $30 and not every month, it's a deal,but basically what it does it converts the device as a USB phone, but the problem with that is that I can't use, for example, WMWIFIRouter.

This works with standard $15/month Sprint PCS Vision plan.
No you do not need to purchase Phone As Modem plan.
No they will not charge you extra because there's no way for them to known you tethering to a pc.

I have two Touch Diamonds (not Pro's).
One for my wife and one for me.

My Internet sharing (Start\Programs\Internet sharing) only has one drop down menu, "PC Connection".
My wife's has two drop downs "PC Connection" AND "Network connection".

Now I bought her's two days after mine at the same Sprint store.

Her Internet connection shares Internet via USB connected directly to a PC without issue.
Mine doesn't since I have not been able to set the missing "Network connection" drop down menu option to the appropriate setting of "Sprint". Instead it either say Waiting for network or error 67 invalid username and password (something like that)

I deleted the key: (not just the value)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection

Now I got the second drop down menu "Network connection", restarted the phone and now it works like a champ.

I just remembered that my bro' got a Sprint diamond recently, and he was still able to use the internet sharing feature on the phone. He's on the $15 vision plan, but it's now $5, cause somehow sprint screw up the system and only charge $5 for it, but hey, no one is complaining.

Thank you Joshyth, but I still did not work for me. I even hard reseted my device and the same ugly error. You might have that in your "plan", I don't know. Like I said. First they told me my phone is not capable ( I wanted to hung the guy), then they say that it's capable (duh), but I have to pay extra $30 and they will enable me from there. Now I've got another error, after the
"Error Code :67 Registration failure....", now it says
"The remote party has ended this connection", what tells me they do have control over that too. But I can go online easy on the phone itself.

you might want to give Sprint a call, they might have blocked your port80 to access the net to force you to sign up for the $30 plan. My brother just ordered it through telesale, and just activated by himself.
