Possible backdoor loader?

let me know if you find a way to write to the system directory. So far we have all permissions stripped and I kinda want to add and delete files from the media folders. I don't need 20 ringtones taking up my space... but then again I am not sure it is taking up space that I can use anyway LOL

Anyone knows what state the phone is in when you power on holding down the track ball?

Only thing happeing is status LED is solid blue. Doesn't get recognized on the PC

Weird. I also found a command somewhere (i think the permissions file) that talks about a CTRL+ALT+DELETE command... weird stuff for an OS to have LOL

I got the zip file downloaded through my broswer!!!! I have the update zip file accessible and readable on my computer!!!! WHO WANTS IT?!

have you taken a look inside? it gives you everything... but.. sadly I renamed it to update.zip put it on my sdcard and it won't update that way... Hmmm maybe we can figure out another way HEHE

EDIT: I tried it again just to see... and it looks like it is working. You are now a hero in my book. Thank you soooo much.

Peoples just rename to update and put it on your sdcard... (don't put it in a folder just right in the root of the sdcard) power up with Home and Power button... hit alt+L then alt+S it should tell you it is verifying and you see a progress bar on the bottom. If it gives you an error restart and try again.

Send them here to help us. BTW... it is taking a long time to get this thing to load... I am stuck on the android startup logo It just keeps flashing

EDIT: OK it loaded HEHE but I don't know what is new... then again I don't care, I am just glad I got the zip and now we have more info on how to flash this baby HEHE... it updated the radio, the baseband, and I think the bootloader.. so that means we can write something to do all that too, along with the system folder also... maybe tomorrow I will try to delete things (ringtones) from the system folder and upload it... be nice to have extra space.

EDIT 2: ok I am having issues getting to the market.. maybe they are down for maintenance like last night.
