Default inability to copy text from the web browser??

I got the G1 over the weekend and have so far been impressed with the OS.
There are some limitations but overall it's a good start for Android.

One issue i've encountered (which I'd assumed would work) is the inability to copy text from the web browser.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

Yeah...I've noticed this too... It isn't just the web browser. The limitations on copy/paste appear to be much more wide spread that I'd anticipated.

For example... If someone sends you an address in the body of an email, you are not able to copy the text of the email in order to forward it on to someone else or pull it up on Google maps... Seems very limiting.

I'd like to see the ability to copy\paste in the root menu options for almost any application/function (email, browser, notepads, contacts, google maps, etc.).
