Default Verizon upgrade from 6600 to 6900

I recently upgraded from the 6600 to a 6900. Verizon is now going to charge me an additional $15 a month because I am "tethering". I have tethered for many years (with the 6600) and was not charged until I made a hardware change. Does anyone have a work around to this charge and the data limit? Verizon claims if I switch back to the old hardware I will still be charged the BBA connect fee. WTF Verizon !!

Thanks

Default tethering?

vzw cant charge you for "tethering". That to me is plugging your phone to your pc either by bt or usb. What they are chargin you for is data usage on their phone network. if you dont want data usage on your phone then get rid of that service. you will be charged for data by kb if you access the data network of vzw unless you block data also. blocking data will not let you access pix and flix via vzw or mms as far as i can tell but i dont do that much anyways. using data via tethering to a pc is no business of vzw and they have no way to regulate or charge you for that.
