![]() I was super excited to hear that the Fuze was coming out for AT&T since I have been waiting for the TouchPro for a long time. Finally my local AT&T store got a couple in stock so I went to go take it for a test drive after reading/watching all the reviews I could find. I'm thoroughly disappointed. I am trying to upgrade from my 8125 and i was thinking that it would be a major improvement. The Fuze is slower than my 8125, how is this possible? Is touchflow3D the new vista? The only thing that even keeps me remotely interested is the video out capability. I'm not sure if I should be mad at HTC since they only make the hardware or microsoft since they make the bulky and outdated windows mobile software. Now I have to wait another year to see what hits the market. I'm a big fan of HTC and WinMo but I think someone needs to step it up a bit. IPhone isn't that big of a threat but after playing with the Android OS on the G1 I can definitely say that it is worthy to be called a next-gen OS. Throw the Android OS on the Fuze and then we can call it a day. I think it is our fault for constantly spending $500 on phones that provide inferior performance. Ok the rant and rave is over ![]() Mod Edit: Combined about 10 threads with various minor complaints about the fuze, please try to keep general complaint type comments to this thread.

I had issues that day I bought my Fuze. I was really worried that it was a dog as it was slow and using the screen was spotty. The two things I did to change my mind were to use my finger tip instead of finger nail to navigate the screen and intall the TF3D Configuration tool and apply the speed tweaks. After that it runs like lighting... I upgraded from the 8525...

While not as snappy as my Tilt, I don't think its the TF3D app. I can turn it off and use it like a normal mobile device. I noticed finger swipes works better than my Tilt.
People need to remember this is NOT an Iphone or a G1. Those use a different screen technology. Perfect for fingers, really bad for accuracy. Just remember on a winMobile device, swiping with a bit a pressure will work fine. If you want accuracy like clicking on a small box or drawing something (Lets seee iphone or G1) freehand, use the stylus. Fuze bonus over that of the Tilt: Hi-Resolution screen, more keys on the keyboard, camera light, other things too, but thats the main thing. I liked. And the G1 ain't all its cracked up to be. My friend has it. He's not happy. He moved from a BB though. Doesn't even have a IM client yet that works full time. |

Man, my Fuse (with the TF3D running) is at worst just as fast as my 8525

The stock ROM is crap and is bloated and runs slow and lags. I also made some changes in the AdvancedConfig tool. I changed the finger pressure and sensitivity to Normal instead of the defaults. |

I was on the fence about flashing my Fuze... but finally put ROMeOS 1.40 and, like everyone else has said, its night and day.
Just curious what what you're doing that the 8125 could perform better? |

sure it is slow. thanks to AT&T bloatware.
I have not flashed a new ROM yet, but just by getting rid of the bloatware and doing the TF3D performance tweaks, the HSPDA tweak, the remapping the PTT button, and i am a happy camper already. I love the size and the screen resolution. The touch screen TF3D is a huge improvement on my Tilt's Manilla 2D. And once you get stuff like Gyrator 2 on it (to use the G-sensor in ANY app, not just Opera and HTC Album), it really blows my old phone away. Slowness, GPS lags, network restrictions, bloatware are all easily fixable - well, thats why we love XDA-Devs ![]() |
