Default Now Available: Verizon Touch Pro

The yet to be announced Verizon touch pro has just appeared on HTC's site. It's a bit difficult to find so here is the link:
http://www.htc.com/us/product.aspx?id=76994
If it disappears it may be because Verizon has not said anything official though the announcement is expected to monday.

Pay attention to the keyboard layout and the RAM processor and overall design. This is an entirely different device from the sprint versions. Notice I didn't say new device. The specs are fine, but lower than the other touch pros. If verizon's expected price of $349 on 2 year contract is true, this sucks. Not only would Verizon users pay more, but it'd be lower spec'd.

Update: As expected the touch pro is now for sale from Verizon's site:

Default Its Out

Just got on the VZW site and the Touch Pro is now listed. With the new every 2 and corporate discount it is showing me a price of $269. Unfortunately I can't tell what Verizon has disabled.

Hmm, the corporate page for my dad's work isn't showing any discounts.

The biggies look like less RAM and an odd keyboard layout. TF3D appears to be an option from all the other things I have read. Maybe the RAM on this phone is to low to do TF3D well?
EDit:
WHOA! When I said less RAM, maybe I didn't think. I just reread the Verizon page and it's listing the phone as 128MB of RAM  !!!!! It's possible that 64MB is unusable and dedicated to graphics (like the 32MB on the Sprint touch pro). But that still gives us HALF of the effective ram of the sprint version. I definitely need to see a device in store and check things out. If anyone can clear up the RAM issue it'd be great.

Different layout of keyboard, less RAM, and a different "square" design are the differences between in and the Fuze and Sprint model.

Touch Flo IS on the Verizon model, but isn't activated by default. You simply activate it from the "Today" screen app.

I am running the leaked Verizon Rom on my Sprint Touch Pro, activated on Verizon. I got tired of waiting, and I wanted the Sprint model, with more memory and better keyboard layout. It's working great on Verizon, and I have 100% functionality.

I don't mind the square design, it appears to be smaller and lighter, but the next is interesting: How did you get you TP and what did you pay? And how did you get it activated on verizon?

I explained what I did here:

http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/htc-t...o-verizon.html

I purchased the Touch Pro outright from a vendor, paying $430 shipped.

As far as activation, I explained it there.

I decided to look at the page that Cycomachead first posted on the web site to see if HTC shed light on what is in the Verizon Touch Pro.

I got excited when it mentioned mapping and the accelerometer. Sure enough it says verizon at that top of the page, but its a cut and paste from the sprint page. I don't think Verizon has these capabilities:
  • Get where you need to go with Sprint Navigation and Live Search.
  • Connect fast with Sprint’s Mobile Broadband Network & Wi-Fi®.
  • Check out favorite Websites like YouTube®, watch Sprint TV, and download music at the Sprint Music Store™.

Maybe I should call Verizon to ask them how much songs on the Sprint store will cost.

I have a friend who just bought the VZW HTC Touch Pro (stock from verizon), and he's having a hard time finding how activate TouchFlo, he's not much of savvy user. I am trying to help him figure it out without actually seeing the device since I am not near his location. Could you post more specific instructions as to how you activated it? Thanks!
