I've used a couple different Samsung phones with the haptic feedback (HF) option and really liked the way it was done. Using the HTC Touch Pro now, I can honestly say it's the only thing I really miss as it gave a pretty realistic response to button pushes. So I gotta say I like what you've done so far.

I only have one suggestion in regards to the vibration, not sure it can be done or not with what you have but I'll try to describe it. On the two phones I've tried which had built in HF, they had two different types of vibration, one vibration set for when a button was pushed down the other set for the button being released. When done in rapid succession it gave the impression of a button push and release. It's hard to explain but it felt like a ramp up when you touched a button and ramp down as you released it.

Hope that makes sense. Maybe others can try to explain it better. But it really gave a (from a touch perspective) realistic feel to button pushes.

Thank you soo much! I gotta spread this on the KS20 thread because a lot of KS20 users are wanting this like me. I'll link them here.
I'm glad to hear that was the trick!

I haven't tried that program but this program and my program may seem to act similar. The difference is that mine is a touch driver. That means if there is any touch at all, it has to go through me first. Whereas I'm assuming the program you linked has to listen for a windows message that says a touch occurred which could cause the vibrate to lag behind the actual touch.

Another thing is that since I have control of the actual touch event, I am able to determine where on the screen the touch occurred whereas if you're only watching the windows messages you don't have that information. This will come in handy when I incorporate including/excluding touches on certain windows.

At least I believe that is the case...

Working good for me! Thanks!

One small suggestion if possible. Is there anyway to make it vibrate during scrolling in programs for example icontacts?

Great app thanks again!

Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you like it. I think I understand what you're trying to describe. I'll have to play around with it to see what I can come up with. What models of phones are you describing so maybe I can look up something about it?

Does it not do anything when using that keyboard? I'll have to try that out. Thanks for the feedback.

Actually, that was something I experimented with in an early version of TouchResponse. I thought it was pretty neat but needed a lot of tweaking so I shelved that idea in order to get this project in a stable-release state. I'll be looking into adding something like that in the future as an option. Thanks for the idea!

Omnia outside the US and Instinct within the US. Those were the only two I played with. I had the Instinct for 3 months before the Touch Pro finally became available.

I guess I'm the only one who has a problem.....

My phone is a Hermes / 8525 / TyTN.

Everything works fine after install, settings are ok and vibrate is fine. However after I leave the phone idle for a while, THE TOUCHSCREEN IS DISABLED. No joke, I touch my screen and nothing. I had to soft-reset which thankfully revived my touchscreen. Just for testing sakes, I left it idle again and sure enough, my touchscreen gets disabled again.

So for now, I've uninstalled it. If it helps, the only programs constantly running on my PDA are S2U2 and M2D.
