Using BB Connect on Kaiser but PIE no likey.

I am using Dutty's ROM with Blackberry connect ON Tmobile USA and BB Connect works great when connected to "Tmobile Blackberry EDGE" network but when I start up PIE or Opera they stop the "Tmobile Blackberry EDGE" network and begin connecting to "Tmobile Data" to surf cutting of Blackberry email. Can I not just have one network that doesn't have to switch? Also, internet is PAINFULLY slow on both browsers. I don't know why but man it sucks. Like 26kbps on dslreports/mspeed. That's on EDGE.
