Default 3G Toggle Switch Needed

I am in a low signal 3G area, and EVERYTIME i make a call it attempts to switch from 3G to edge for better service and drops the call EVERY time unless it starts the call in edge already. This is my second android with this problem, they need to hurry up and fix this horrible bug. In the mean time a quick desktop toggle switch would be great so i can disable 3G before a call...or even disable 3G before an call automaticly

If you grab the Any Cut app, you can add a shortcut to your desktop: Shortcut > Any Cut > Activity > Network Settings.

From there you can enable/disable "Use only 2G networks" as needed.

HTH!

I thought 3G is only used for data and voice doesn't get involved, but I could be completely wrong.

3G is used for data and voice. If you have a 3G capable phone and you are in the 3G coverage zone of a 3G carrier then you will connect via 3G, regardless of whether or not you have a data plan.

I stand corrected, thanks for the explanation.

There are several apps on the market to toggle 3g, like "power manager" (new version), "toggle settings" (new version).

Type in: *#*#INFO#*#* in the dialer.

There's an option to turn off 3G. Without AnyCut.

Default 3g toggle was here but now gone!

Hey guys,

I'm sad because we just had 3G toggle but the application developer "Droidsans" changed it to only work for Non-US users.

The application is called Droidsans Tweak Tools Lite and it has the windows animation and transition effects. There was an APN swtich before and I would switch to T-mobile CZ and wouldn't have the 3G icon on anymore however he took it off to only apply to Non-US users. I hope he changes it back or maybe a T-mobile representative contacted him and forced him to do so since they want to make more money off data. So sad....

Comments and suggestions on bringing it back?

I tried this twice on the Atrix and it seems to go back to "H"?

Any way to make it stick?
