I did several searches in the hermes forum and got 3 possible hits, none in TIA's thread. So I thought I' post more centrally.

This was a clean install on top of stripped ATT ROM (and maybe even on top of fresh hard_SPL_7). But I'll try flashing it again.

If I re-post elsewhere isn't' that going to peev somebody else off to?

Can't Add "New Accts." to Mail (v15)...

,,,In fact I don't think any mail type apps. work.

Every time i slide over to "MAIL" it says "no accts". A lower left button says "add account". Pushing it does nothing (Maybe I have to establish an acct somewhere else?).

Phone is arr 8525m, Manila v15 build by Tai, the latest I presume. Fresh install on top of stripped ATT rom (and maybe fres hard _slp_7.

(For what it;s worth, evey thing else works geat. This is about the 6th rom I've installed since I picked up my phone a week age and this rom is definitely my fave...but I need my email)

Thought or Ideas?

EDIT: everything else works great. Most other roms work fine. Seems WM_6.1 roms work better

My Hermes always stuck in bottloader after flash any of this roms. Even hard reset wont help... Other roms work good...

No it doesnt include live messenger but yes you can install it no problem

i had the same sissue my first time flashes his rom no one couls really help me with the issue. so i just used another rom and waited for the next release of his. im using v14 i believe. but i feel your pain. its a awesome rom but you need ya email and tex to work lol. as a person who had the same issue i would say jsut try another rom and wait for the next release

i would agree with natureboy your best bet is to try a different rom or try another release of his rom and then wait untill he brings out a newer version. some problems that appear are just random and there isnt always a explanation for them so flashin another rom may be a good idea

Naturreboy: First thanks for sharing my pain. Condolences accepted by the whole family LOL. Isn't a nice ROM? I was trying V!5 (might just be a different color of V14).

I tried re-flashing it from the ground up (SPl_7->ATT->V15) about 5 times to the point of making it a semi brick. Right now Im successfully using Manila 2D-color, every thing works great but it runs on WM 6.1 (does it Matter?) and the slider icon thing is a little hard to navigate for me


Scott; Are you saying something like a chip sourced temporarily from a different vendor in Tiapai instead of korea, or something, could just make a small production run that dosn't function with otherwise stable release?

Is there likely ro be a V16? Are people still developing for this ancient phone (Comp-tech=dog years/2...lol) ?

21232 Manila 2D V16 WWE is ready for downloading now, enjoy it.

There are still a select few people who are still cooking roms for the hermes such as CRC i think there are a few more but alot of the chefs have moved to newer devices.

If Tai has only recently cooked your current rom then the chances are that he may have another one that he is currently working on.

as for your comment on the chip i was saying that sometimes people experience errors with certain Roms that no one else does these can usually be avoided by using stable Roms although they still happen with those.
If you can find another Rom that fulfills what it is that you want in on your Hermes then you should switch to that and wait for another version of manilla to be released. i would recommend CRC's Roms as he has naked Roms and a device updater program which lets you put the programs that you want on your Hermes.

I hope something that i have mention might help if your still unsure about anything just ask
