Default Battery on Touch Pro - HELP!

I am having a terrible time with the battery on my new Touch Pro. My battery goes dead in about 2 hours and unless I turn it off completely, I cant seem to get it to charge.

I finally ran the NuePower driver to see what my power drain is vs. my charging ability. I have attached a screen shot.

The phone can charge at 439 mA while connected to my laptop. The drain is at 523 mA when the internet is active.

When the internet is not active, the drain drops to 220mA which is enough to charge the phone.

I have verified that WIFI isn't turned on. I have also turned off Bluetooth and it doesn't seem to have an impact.

I had a mogul for years and used it in this way and never had battery problems. The phone would easily last all day.

Has anyone else seen this and if so, do you have any suggestions?

The only thing that really drains my power on my HTC Pro is ActiveSync. A quick fix is to use the Adavanced configuration tool and change the power consumption options to your liking. Also I heard changing to a new theme or Rom helps the battery last considerably longer

I had the same problem with my brand new TP. the battery only lasted 4 hours on standby, and used to get really hot. I only had it for a couple of days then I took it back to the store, and got a new one. The new one is a lot better and doesn't get as hot.

took about a week for my battery to get "broken in" and at that point i was going about14-18 hours with TF3D running. I am now using Spbmobile shell 2 (really just waiting for SPB MS3) and i can go nearly 2 days now with just texting, a few calls, and checking email and internet a few times. It will last for a full 24 hours with heavy use as well.

When I first got my Sprint TP I only got about 7 to 8 hours of battery. What I did was to disable Rev A on the phone. Now I get about 24 to 30 hours

Well this is pretty common on just about every forum who discusses the TP....

My battery is much better now that I flashed the MightyROM...Apparently he has some power tweaks in there that actually work...

I also found a slightly bigger battery that fits inside the standard case on Ebay...

I now get through the day on a single charge provided I don't make a zillion calls all day...

Sorry, I am new to this forum and phone (1 week old). What exactly do you mean by "disabling Rev A?" I know from reading the threads that switching to a different ROM would help however since I am a newbie, I dont want to risk flashing my brand new phone and potentially messing it up. Thanks for any help!

Disabling Rev A on a Sprint Phone, will make it go back to EVDO rev 0. Is not as fast as Rev A but is a lot more stable and is better for the battery. To do this you have to get your msl code, I'm attaching the utility that I use to get my code. Just install it to your device memory. when you run it tap "get spc/msl, tap yes to the warning and write down the number that it will provide for you, that's your phone msl. Now tap on Launch EPST and hit edit, enter your code, on view info go to "Data Parameters" and there you will see Rev.A, disable it and hit menu and Ok, reset your device and ready.

You may need Net Framework 3.5 for this app to work properly

I did not wrote this app nor I take credit for it.

Thanks alot for your help! I actually used a cab that I found here or on PCC that has worked great for the first day. I pretty much went the whole day without charging which hasnt happened since I got the phone last week. However, after forgetting to unplug the charger to my phone last night, I woke up to an unresponsive phone. I know I have read that problem with other people. So I just wont charge it overnight. Well back to the battery, this cab seems to work quite fine so far. Here it is in case other people want to give it a try and maybe let other people know about your experiences.
