Default Antiteft

Hi,

I played with Antiteft software a few times.

Problem is I think, if you cook it in the personal setting should be cooked in as well other wise you lose your settings after a hardreset.

These ones I tried:

Remote tracker, made by Joubervasc:

Also Sprite Terminator commercial:
http://www.spritesoftware.com/

This one I didn't try yet but looks good:

JRTRemote - J2ME Remote Tracker Client App, made by Alt236

Current device : htc one x 'What else?'

Is it complicated to add a config file to a cooked ROM?

for the moment I use IIWPO (the cab it's easy to customize) associated to UC compliant ROM...it's better than nothing while waiting a real solution from xda monsters

I think you misunderstand, a personal config is complicated to add.

Personal password/settings, it's different for every person.

a possibility: sending IMEI to a central server, where individual users with individual passwords could access the information....

One could also save on the SIM an encrypted IMEI. if it doesn't match the one of the telephone or it is absent - then the telephone could send its GPS position to the server and inform the registered user.

....unfortunately, everything relies on a server --> service...
- Nokia 6610 (simple, good and....lost)
- Palm Treo (broke and never again)
- HTC Wizard (R.I.P with flowers)
- HTC Trinity P3600 (glorious retirement, my dear)
- HTC Touch HD T8282 Blackstone with Westone3 in-ear headphones
- Samsung Galaxy S I9000, the holy grail
- Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100, forgetting the PC

(...think about it: share your knowledge!)

that's a good idea because it won't need any personnal settings to be cooked inside the ROM but as you said we need a common server to be setup... but the best is surely to send info via SMS I think and then it needs a phone number to be setup...

in fact the IIWPO cab it's customizable with personal owner info before installed into device so, when added to SDconfig.txt list, after a hard reset it's immediately operative
