Default HSDPA?

I'm using HTC Touch Dual before my treo pro. I'm very sure that the my area has HSDPA. WHY CAN"T MY TREO FIND HSDPA???? Is it HTC better than PALM?

Please help if anyone able to give me some advice / solution

I'm using a treo pro without any modification / extra software installed. Just did a hard reset and still can't see HSDPA ?!

Hi, atomicbubu
Let me guess, are you on US T-Mobile network?
If do, sorry, you will not get it work, since Tmobile using 1700Hz. I am on Tmobile with my Touch pro....Tmobile suck.

Hi Wing,

I'm not. I'm from Malaysia and on Maxis network. The HSDPA is available at certain location in the city. However, my treo pro just can't pick up the signal.
I've tried to contact palm support and just received very lame excuse from their side. They just insisting that my carrier have to do something with the setting on my TREO ...zzzzz

I just wonder if this is the problem of the carrier, they would be too busy to personally do the setting for every phone to get HSDPA...zzzzzz

Is there anyone out there that can give me a solution... please...

Since HTC built the Treo Pro, no HTC is not "better".

According to Phonescoop, both phones include all the same GSM frequencies & the Pro actually adds one more HSDPA frequency the Dual doesn't have.

I'm on AT&T in the US. My previous phone was a Cingular/AT&T 8525 (a branded HYC Tytn). All I did was swap the SIM card into the Treo Pro & everything worked. In fact, the Pro works better than any phone I've had before.

I'm not familiar with Malaysia or Maxis, but my suspicion is that Maxis may not have the phone settings change as fully automated as AT&T. So, you'll probably need their customer service to walk you through the process. Once your phone is properly set up, you'll nnever go back.

Will any of the config tweaks e.g. Kaiser tweak work?

I've seen threads indicating some things will work, others might cause problems on the Treo Pro. Some of the tweaks in the Advanced Configuration program work. But I'm not anywhere near an expert, so any tweaks I've done have been pretested by braver souls. :)

I don't know why atomicbubu is having a problem. But, if the Dual was preconfigured for Maxis, there may be some setting(s) that need manual tweaking on the Pro.
