Default Preparing HD for Waranty Return?

I have to send my HD back to UK from Australia for repair (because my Wi-Fi fails to turn on most of the time).

I bought it from handtec.co.uk and it had the Orange_UK_1.14.405.3 ROM preinstalled (Unlocked).
However, since I bought it I have flashed if several times using HardSPL but I didn't backup my original ROM first.

Question: If I re-flash it with Orange_UK_1.14.405.3 ROM from this site then remove HardSPL do you think they will accept or reject my warranty claim?
Or is there some other method I should use to prepare it for warranty return?

Thanks

Better safe than sorry... If you put back the original rom and the original spl, both of which should be somewhere in xda, I don't see where they'd be able to tell... I know of no other method for preparing a handset for return.

When I sent my polaris back to HTC USA, the lady I spoke with said it was fine to leave the custom rom on it, and I did, and nothing was said to me because it was there. I guess it depends where you're sending it back to...

because of the data protection act they wipe the phone so they probably wont know that it has a different rom and even so they arent allowed to boot it up properly to find out.

as said before better to be safe than sorry because you dont know how you can trust these days, over eager employee looking for a promotion could try it out - and get sacked for it - and then you fail warranty?

The Link I posted above is the htc stock one, I also bought it from handtec and delivered. How do you know if it is orange? as there is no mention of it when you check the rom version So I assume it is HTC stock.

Default had same worries and found original orange rom

I had the same worries before putting on hard SPL on my device so looked on XDA for the rom and found it. the wiki for hard SPL will tell you exactly on how to reverse it and you should be able to return all to factory settings. Here is the link for the HTC stock rom from ORANGE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444158

On the same subject, what is the best way to backup a complete carrier ROM on a TOUCH HD before installing a custom one?

Hi nighty,

I had the same problem, O2 device and warranty incident. You can find the German O2 stock ROM 1.14.207.3 in German-speaking boards like ppc-welt.info or pocketpc.ch, but you'll still have the wrong ROM version displayed on the boot screen (RGD screen). I don't know why this is the case as nobody answered to my questions too

Hi nighty,

hatte das selbe Problem, O2 Gerät und Garantiefall. Du kannst das dt. Original-Rom in deutschspr.
