Default RDP-Remote Desktop. Where Are You?

We are starting to advance fairly well with applications, hopefully we will see an RDP application for the G1 soon. Anyone hear and rumors about it?

Use AndroidVNC.
You can install a free vnc server on the machine you want to connect to.

Try using TightVNC or UltraVNC for a server on your PC.

A remote desktop app would be fantastic, right now i have to carry around my tethered nokia N810 with me everywhere to use just that, because connecting to a remote machine with a stable internet connection is the only reliable way for me to manage remote servers and monitor support channels.

VNC is nice and useful for roughly the same thing but is NOT what the original poster was asking for. RDP is a specific protocol. There are a number of reasons to want/need RDP instead of VNC. The most obvious being that many data centers will happily let you connect to the built in Remote Desktop client in Windows but will not allow the installation of VNC. Second RDP is more efficient in bandwidth usage and generally more responsive in attenuated networks.

So please understand that when a person requests RDP, the answer is not to rant that connecting via VNC has been covered multiple times.

VNC is also a headache getting to work through a router.

Desktoid is the only project I could find trying to make and RDC client. It appears to be stalled though. If it dies I might try to make one. Since I generally only work on the *nix boxes though it is not a priority for me.
