Default How do people hear the Navigation Commands?

I have just installed some Garmin nav software and had a go at the weekend.

Even at full volume it was hard to hear the instructions unless I had the radio off.

I am just about to get a holder that I can attach to the windscreen. I imagine there are ones with speakers available. Are there any tips on good ones to try?

Thanks for any info

ps - I have just found this hands free car kit with speaker. Do these things play the sound coming out of the HD (navigation software narrative etc.) or just come on when the phone goes?

I connect my HD to the car's auxillary input as I play music from it and have media player at about 80%. Can hear music and directions

You can even try using HD tweak tool and increase the sound levels! Works 4 me.

thanks Fred - our Audi radio has no alt input - if may have on the back - too hard to get at!

thanks Nik - I have done that

I ordered the hands free kit as per the original post. It does what I wanted and charges the HD and has a jack which goes into the socket at the top and then this is output from the speaker that is built into the power adapter. It works a treat! (and also is a hand's free kit). It connects to the range of Herbert Richter's mounts which I have read are good.

For UK reader info, I want to say a word of thanks to PDA Hut. Their comms and delivery are very good. Answered my queries fast and delivered an order that I placed yesterday at 1600 hrs at 0830 this AM. No Connection etc - just happy with their service.
