Default Suggestion

Hi Tom
Many are suggesting waypoint projection etc.
How about an addition to the "Menu" giving an option of, say "Geocaching Tools". Tools that could be added include: waypoint projection, checksum calculators (word and coordinate), coordinate converters, calculator to calculate distance between points (very useful when placing a cache to know that you are not inside the proximity limit)...even Morse code converters.
(Sounds like a lot of work to me! Only a suggestion!)
To assist with ideas here are a few links:

FizzyMagic

Distance calculator

Geocache difficulty and Terrain rating tool

Java aplett of goeocaching tools

Word checksum calculator
Amazed by your work.........

Thanks Tom!

Just gave it a quick test with a couple of caches and it looks like its fixed. <GCz_short_description> does indeed now have the short description in it, and <GCz_description> has the longer description

I wish I turned around my coding bugs as quickly as you ... come to think of it I bet my boss does as well

Tom..

I think I may have found a bug

If use a cache with waypoints and use the "Set waypoint" menu option the co-ordinates in the GPS Monitor are wrong in that it uese "East" instead of "West".

I've attached some screen shots to show what I mean.

If I then set the target as the cache in the GPS Monitor and then go back and set the waypoint as the target its correct. I think the "East"/"West" part is staying set from the previous "set" even though the actual co-ordinate is being changed ?

Dear Tom,

I have a question. I want to use GCzII to download the whole caches in Taiwan. But, I only got part of it. I don’t know why.

In geocaching.com when I use the search option “List newest in Taiwan”, http://www.geocaching.com/seek/neare...country_id=194, I will got 246 records totally. But, when I use GCzII and input the address “Taiwan” to search. I only can get 48 records totally. I don’t know what’s the difference between these two searching condition.

Is there any method in GCzII that I can get the same result, 246 records one time, as from geocaching.com ?

Attached screenshots were my setting and searching results.

Good idea although when I raised the question I thought about simply 2 entry fields and a Calc-button on the Set-Target page. Function of the button: Recalculation of the coordinates with the given direction and the distance. Fields set back to zero to avoid inadvertent double-click.

Can you not cache the data on WiFi? Then you can hunt from the cached cache data.

Tom has data import on the list, but it's not an easy thing to do *right*, at least in my experience seeing all the bad ways I've seen it implemented.
