Default Refunds and future updates?

So, quick question regarding the Market.

Suppose I download a paid app -- version 1.0 for example -- and the app is simply terrible. Good idea, but terrible implementation, so I uninstall and request a refund.

Now, let's say a few weeks later, version 1.1 comes out, and all of the issues with 1.0 have been fixed. If I really want this app, but am still unsure of its worth, is it possible to download the newer version, and still get a refund? Or will I simply be stuck with the app, because it's the second time I've downloaded it?

Basically, my question is if the refund policy applies the app as a whole, where one refund is the max, or if it applies to each new version. Any help?

No. You definitely can't. You can only refund 1 time PER APP. Not Per version. If you want to refund after that, you need to email the developer and (s)he's not required to let you.

I feel like this is a definite flaw for the Market. Suppose I bought ChompSMS (if it were a paid app), and didn't like it -- which I originally didn't. Then, suppose the newer version got some great features -- VK, etc., and I wanted to check them out. But, I would be afraid of the app not being as improved as promised. Basically, I'm stuck either paying or forgetting about the app forever, no?

Yeah, but the alternative is people buying an app for when they need it for a day then getting a refund on a weekly basis. Read customer comments before committing to buying an app. And with most apps being a couple of dollars, it shouldn't be a huge issue.
