Default Dream Theme Competition - Work in Progress!

"The powers that be have been very busy lately, falling over each other to position themselves for the game of the millennium."

The next competition is in the works. We learned a lot from the previous round and I assure you its only going to get bigger and better from here. Please stay tuned for updates and when the ground work is in place we will announce the new competition.

*RESULTS*

Here is how the voting stacked up across the board before .......

Artistic Category: 1st-Aero, 2nd-Gloss Suite, 3rd-MoOn Dust, 4th-Dark Symmetry, 5th-System Force
Creative Category: 1st-Dark Knight, 2nd-Mario Droid, 3rd-Gloss Suite, 4th-Vista, 5th-MoOn Dust
Technical Category: 1st-Impossible, 2nd-Gloss Suite, 3rd-Dark Knight, 4th-Aero, 5th-MoOn Dust
Overall Category: 1st-Gloss Suite, 2nd-Aero, 3rd-Dark Knight, 4th-MoOn Dust, 5th-Dark Symmetry

And now the final results for the First ever HTC Dream theme competition started at XDA-developers.com .......

3rdThe top 5 themes all came very close, but it was clear that the battle for first and second would be the closest. Regardless, in a close third place, the second most praised theme from the notes section of the ballot, beating out MoOn Dust by less than 5% was Aero by UltraSpikey.

2ndIn second place, with most comments on the ballots, Dark Knight by jdwme. This theme stole the hearts of the judges and showed more passion and effort than any others. Even tho it didnt win I think it made the biggest impact on the community and I think this theme embodies everything that this contest was about.

1stFinally the winner by only 1%!!! Ok, so its no surprise that Gloss Suite takes the cake. This was the undisputed winner of the popular vote and a truly exceptional theme. I know that MoonSpoon is technically the submitter but big props go to Stericson for his help too.

All of the winner please email me your info so I can send out your winnings.

First off, I want to give a big shout out to xda-developers.com, androidcommunity.com, and modmygphone.com. Without you guys this would not have been possible.

Ya, this is the first g1 competition for themes I know about and it was kind of a crap shoot to see what happened. I think the main thing we will get from this contest is a starting point. We now know what the "best" themes look like. My hope is that someone will use one and say Holy ****, someone won $400 to make this, I can make one twice as good for the next contest, and so on and so forth. Now that the ball is rolling its only a matter of time before we see amazing things.

Ends 3/25/2009 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time

And I chose the PDF to make the voting standard for any G1 forum. I tried to make it as easy and "no duh" as possible but I know nothing is foolproof to a clever fool so let me know if you guys have suggestions.
