coreplayer 1.3 does work. The dubbing is out of sync, anyone know how to fix it?

On CorePlayer 1.25 there is and option on the Advanced preferences page to adjust the A/V (audio/video) offset. Try putting a value in there to see if you can sync the audio correctly.

Here is a test you can try on your media server to see if the BBC streams can be transcoded for myPlayer.

(the image below outlines the following steps)

1. Open the VLC application (v0.9.9) on your media server

2. Select "Open Network ..." from the Media menu

3. In the "Open" dialog - tick the "Show more options" checkbox and then paste the following rtsp link in to the "Customize" box (it is an episode of the Apprentice - You're Fired!):

rtsp://3gp-acl.bbc.co.uk:554/3gpclip/iPlayer/wifi_5325010405020713895.3gp

4. Click the down arrow below the "Customize" box (do not click Play) and then select "Stream"

5. In the "Stream Output" dialog - tick the "Play locally" check box

6. Then select "H264" from the Profile drop-down list

7. Now you are ready to test the transcoding - click the "Stream" button

Attachment 177074

If all is well and good the media stream should start transcoding and you should see the video after 10 seconds.

If not please select "Messages" from the "Tools" menu, set the Verbosity Level to 1 and then copy and paste the result in to a post so I can help investigate further.

Hi, sorry for the delay. I ran the test and vlc crashed while trying to stream.

I can't provide any messages as vlc crashed before it had written any debug info

but on the positive side. coreplayer 1.3 does indeed play the streams without the need for vlc

Cool. Well if you still want to try to get the VLC implementation working I'd recommend downloading and installing the h264 codec to your media server and then trying the streaming test again.

Could you post a screen shot of the error message VLC gives you?

Also if you start VLC up, and select Tools -> Preferences then switch to "ShowSettings" -> "All" you should be able to set a log file in the Advanced section under "Logging". If you could attach the log file after trying the stream again that would help.

Can I also ask what operating system (which version of Windows?) you are running and what are the specs of your PC?

Thanks,

-Fry

I have quite a bit installed on my phone, narrowing it down to what may have allowed me to to this if it wasnt an update to coreplayer will be quite hard to do. It didnt work for me on your previous version of your app though, but with this new version it sprang to life. If you have no joy getting it to work, I can always chat with you on the IM of your choice so I can answer any questions you have directly.

I use a TyTn II with The orange Version of WM6.1 ( de Oranged )

I can confirm that the BBC Live TV streams work with CorePlayer version 1.30 via wifi. I will update the first post to reflect this and as VLC is no longer a requirement I will leave the application as is.

Thanks for the feedback.
