Seems they've had a bit of a change of heart over pricing too. SIM free price is £474, unless you're talking about the 12 month contract price + £18.99 on t-mobile, but that is £371.31 + you get 300mins and 200 txts thrown in for free.

they're still £373 + p&p if you buy it as pay as you go with vodafone. The first TD2's are shipping unlocked (or at least the ones to that supplier are) so you can just leave the voda sim out when it arrives if you're on another network. I think the 'sim free' option on the website is probably for when they start locking them to carriers.

The 12 month t-mobile contract is a good deal, except it means signing up to t-mobile!

Noob.

I don't get it. I've seen that T-Mobile won't be offering the TD2 until they repackage it as the MDA V which is to be released in June.

How come retailers can offer it on T-Mobile, Voda etc this early?

Regards,
Fru

They just package the retail HTC item with a sim-only contract that they get commission on.

It is not unheard off to offer a unbranded HTC device with a contract...I know when I used to go for packages like that in the past with O2 and T-mobile, I used to specifically ask for a de-branded/original unit from Carphone warehouse or Phones4U...and both offered it - if not after a few huffs and puffs

As for settings, remember most HTC if not all now days come with the settings manager app so it picks up the simcard, and 95% of the time, will have the settings for you already pre-programmed so you just hit install
