Default Anyone else missing the D1's back and stylus?

I'm not saying I hate this phone, far from it, but holding the the old D1 and the D2 side by side, I can't help but feel that the D1's body felt sturdier and the back more solid. If the reason for getting rid of it for the flat panel was so it would sit on a table nicely, mine has got a huge bulge in the center, so it won't anyway!

Also the stylus seems flimsy and bends under small ammounts of pressure, unlike the thicker, chunkier, and magnetic D1 stylus.

I prefer the rounded back and sides, but yes the D2 doesn't feel as solid as the Diamond. Also if you take the back off you can see the body of the D2 is just plastic with a metallic coating, unlike the Diamond. Not complaining though, I love this phone!

The D1 is also "just plastic". The D2 is by far better built than the D1.

Are you sure? I've got one in front of me and it seems to have a metal skeleton. Which would account for it's heavier weight considering it's smaller than the D2.

And I can't agree that the D2 is "by far better built", the stylus and back casing just feels cheap!

I'm happy with the Diamond 2, but the Diamond feels more solid and this is partly due to the metal body which it does have, unless I'm hugely mistaken :P

I had the O2 Ignito version of the TD1 which had a flat back cover but it was covered in the nice rubbery coating which made it very grippy. I would have prefer the TD2 to have this rubbery coating instead of the shiny one.

Also the TD1 was definately metal frame which the TD2 does not have (a bit of cost cutting on HTCs part methinks).
