Default XDA Flint Video Playback

Hi All,

My XDA Flint arrived yesterday!
I spent all evening and half the night playing with it!
I've been loading video files onto it but most of the won't play back!
I'm only using the crummy WMPlayer included!
What is the best playback software and where do I find it? Also will I need any codecs?

Thanks All

Alex

If you don't mind paying, then Coreplayer is an excellent player with most codecs built in. If cost is a problem then Coreplayers 'lighter' sibling, TCPMP is pretty good but doesn't have the same video acceleration capability.

Make sure the resolution of video files is 640*480 or less (I tend to use 75% of that and it works well- full VGA can be a little slow)

I Now have Coreplayer 1.3.2
I'm having real trouble with playback on some video files! - Audio is fine but the video is playing back at less than 1FPS!!!
Do you know the limitations of the device?

Thanks

Alex

It may depend on a number of factors- settings in Coreplayer, video file type, and video file resolution.

Look at This Thread for some more info. It also a link to a topic about an open source video file transcoder.

Did you video files play in any previous WM devices, or are they PC based files- if the latter then they will certainly need transcoding to a lower resolution. The X7510 processor (and the general WM infrastructure) is simply too slow to play videos at the same resolution as a desktop PC

I payed for coreplayer but never could make it work on my x7510, but a special version of TCPMP for wm 6.1 worked just fine.

Thanks for the advice!

I have found the settings in coreplayer and have fiddled with them and now have virtually perfect playback now!
