Thanks for the pics. I'm thinking about whether to do this mod. My GPS took forever to connect the first time I tried it. Yesterday, I connected very quickly. I read somewhere that the first connection is often very slow. So, I think I'll see how it goes before scraping and taping. The pictures show me what has to be done to get a better connection if needed. I wonder if there is something better than foil that will stick on its own?

There may be problems with the clones. I don't get a very strong wifi signal - need to be quite close to the router. Phone quality could be better, but it's acceptable. It would be interesting to compare with an original But in any case, I don't think it's fair to call it a piece of junk. It has a nice screen, a very fast processor (I think faster than the original) and a lot of features, and is a LOT cheapter than the original. So far, I don't regret my purchase. Time will tell. The biggest issue is having a supportive community. The tips here are very helpful.

I use T4242 clone device about two weeks. Have no problems with built-in GPS in Car. Have no problem with WiFi at home (enough signal in another room from router).
But very poor BT signal. If device in poch on my belt - have noise and silent sound in my BT headset. Will try to make some mode this internal antenna.
For 200 USd incl. USPS express shipping cost - not so bad.
In addition - can't find working WOW SRS package for this device

Default hard reset HTC T3232(clone)

connect with usb to computer, press red and hold button and reset button. For me it works. Or try greenbutton and than press reset button.

Connect to usb of your PC,

It looks very much like the one I have. Mine came with a ROM pre-v3.04, the ROM upgrade to v3.04 has been beneficial.

One thing to watch out: it advertises 192MB RAM, but if you look under Settings -> Memory, the Total Program memory amount is about 102MB on mine (I wonder if this can be "patched" and how.)

Other than that, and the very poor quality of the large-size photo pictures, it performs well enough.

Your model apparently has "TouchFLO" - it would be interesting to check the software version (under Settings -> DeviceInfo -> Software).

Thanks.

try foil tape.. there is even copper foil tape. ebay sells it... i could picture that stuff looking really nice, secure, and professional

not sure about others, but for me the foil method is enough and it costs almost nothing. outdoors, i still consistantly get a fix on mutliple SATs in 40 secs or less. not as good as my globalsat bluetooth GPS but definately acceptable.

However when I reboot the phone the screen is backwards and upsidedown. Which of course makes it unusable. Does anyone have any clues or a newer Rom to try. I'd like to try a WM 6.5 Rom but I think it's still a little early for that . Anyway...

Thanks guys,

dude.. sorry to hear that.. did you find a fix. is it in way that you can use some sorta flip screen app to face it the right way.

was the 3.04-WWE rom that you used the one posted earlier in this thread.
