Hero rom Help!

hi guys, I bought a rogers htc magic a couple of days back, looking at the forums i decided to use the hero rom because it looked fantastic.

After 3 days of painful proceders like partitioning my sd card, writing the rom as update.zip and trying to root the pphone and use fast boot i have failed miserably!

When i tried the partition, ext2 and copy update.zip with ubuntu, the phone didnt recognize the ext 2 partition, only finding the now smaller fat32 partition.

When i tried just placing the rom as update.zip on the sd card and trying to load it from the power+home meny it said the rom is unsigned and will not install it!!

With fast boot i just got lost!

Now i read somewhere you can mod the update.zip to make it signed so it can install on the phone, i dont know how!

wow u guys forget it im getting an iPhone!
ZMOG thats easier to modify as well 2 step jailbreak process!!

There's an auto signer in themes section for the Dream. Maybe you should just get an iPhone if that's what you want. Android is the future.

dude i was just kidding..... i dont no goddamm iPhone!!!

I agree android is the future... i was just higlighting the fact that its so easy to mod the iphone, ie software mods, where as for the androis i have to go through so may complicated methords and yet get no results.


PS ill have a look at the autosigner in the themes section.

Also any other help will be greatly apreciated.

I suggest that you try reading the comment about the signer!

Get your stuff signed and it will install, otherwise find a source that is signed.

Good luck. Rogers can only run the Daldroid Rom, so for the time being Hero probably won't work.

When I had got my Rogers to finally run the Daldroid rom, I experimented with some other roms and, although they would flash, booting into them didn't happen. Looks like we gotta do a litrle more waiting.

I know... sucks balls that only daldroid works... daldroid is the same Rom as the Rogers one except the Rogers junk..... but I heard that HTC will be releasing Tue sense UI to previous android phones so I guess ill just have to wait...............
