Default PDair Aluminum Case?

Can anyone comment on this case? It looks pretty decent with the rubber gripping inside. There are some videos on youtube of it. Silver looks snazzy. Already dropped my xperia bad once without a case had to send it in. Looking for something that covers it completely while I can still use it. Any advice on a case would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I purchased this case in the silver and the black. They are extremely well made and the X1a seems to fit in it perfectly. I like the "velvet" lining. The one thing that you have to get used to is that it has clear hard plastic built into the case that covers the screen. This was actually why I bought it because in my handbag, I don't want the phone screen getting scratched. But when I take it out I forget the screen is covered and just start tapping. It's no big deal to just open the "door" of the case but it was funny.

Also, I don't know if the aluminum messes with the radio signal. It seems a little weaker while in this case.

Overall the case is well made, protects the phone, fits snugly and looks really cool. Drawback is that it adds weight. Phone is very heavy in the case.
Hope this helps, Cindy.

so you cant use the phone while the case is closed? in the youtube videos it looks like the front screen portion of the phone is open. Can this plastic screen be removed? Id rather have a martin fields screen protector and still be able to use the phone with the case closed.... thanks.

how are the hinges on the case? are the stiff enough to keep it from closing by itself while the keyboard is out?

I've has one of these for about a week.

I carefully (but easily) removed the plastic window it comes with to make touch screen accessible. I already have a screen protector to prevent scratching.

All is good with it, although I'm sure the phone reception is slightly reduced by the metal casing. I'm testing more in this area.

I have had one of these for a long time.I used to have a plastic case with the screen exposed until i ended up with a dent in my screen. The phone reception is definatly affected with this case which is great for me as i dont want signal all the time as i use it for work to which gives me a nice break when out in the country.Definatly saves the screen though and ive dropped my phone alot of times where it would of definatly been damaged if it wasnt for this case.

Update:

Certainly well made, but the two bar drop in phone signal and the unusable GPS makes it not an option anymore......shame
Not too keen on the big hinge either.

I've gone back to the silicon case with a scratch guard fitted and will use the metal case for bigger trips/ holidays etc.

Also tried the rigid plastic cases. The one with a silicon feel. Although signal strength is unaffected, this type is too brittle and breaks easily. Especially the screen cover side.
