Default Ion rooted, but won't recognize my simcard!

Hello everyone, and thanks to all of you for the awesome repository of information here! I already got myself through several problems with the rooting process based on the posts here I'm running a Google I/O Ion phone (PVT 32B - CPLD10), and have successfully rooted it. However, the SPL I'm using (I think I'm using the terminology right here, but sorry if not) seems to be for Vodafone users I've tried several, including both of the ones in the Magic SPL HBOOT collection thread and the Haykuro one posted on this wiki. I used the RAv1.0G recovery img in the process of doing all of these updates.

Each of the installs I've done has had the Vodafone program loaded onto it, and none of them recognize the T-mobile simcard I have in the phone. I can get internet access through wifi without any issues, and was able to install the terminal emulator and get root, so everything else seems to be working just fine.

Do I have the wrong SPL version? Does one exist that is compatible with American phone carriers? Or do I just need to modify some type of setting to allow my simcard to work? Any help, advice, or links where I can read up, would be much appreciated! Thanks a lot

You were dead-on Bachviet, thanks a lot! I google'd for what the heck APN settings were and found this thread on XDA, which was exactly what I needed. Now I have root and my 3G access back

Thanks again so much for the help! I never would've found that post with the search terms I was using...
