Default New to HTC, What should i do first?

I am new to HTC i had my TP2 for 3 weeks now but i havent done anything to it at all and today i got the HTC magic (Ion) and im wondering, what can i do to make this device even better? I see alot stuff about the Roms thingys but i have no idea how to put them on the device. If anybody would be so kind and sorta guide me to make my HTC magic even better than it is right now. Hi, you will first need to "root" the phone, basically the process which gives you FULL access to your device, you are then able to install a rom of your choosing. A gtood place to start is in the following article, which describes exactly the process of rooting your handset.

http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.ph...=Magic_Rooting

Any questions, just ask.

Does anybody know if the Google Ion version of the phone needs to be rooted? The instructions that came in the box suggest that it's possible to install new roms without any hacking because it's a device intended for developers.

Make sure you type the command exactly as written, do not mix back slash and forward slashes, and it will also be case sensitive. If your still having problems power the device down and back up to allow it to remount sd.
