Introduction:
Do you want to have access to the latest weather information, directions, stocks, and other important information on the go? You don't have internet plan? Google SMS is your solution. It uses the inexpensive texting plan to get all those information. This application provides a friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI) on top of the well known Google SMS. With it, you will be able to get your hand on the latest information on the go without the need of internet data plan. Also, this application is mostly customizable so that you can customize it to your own personality.

Requirements:
.NET Compact Framework 3.5
Windows Mobile 5+ (Touch and non-Touch screen)
Note: This application uses carrier text messaging. So make sure you have text messaging plan from your carrier; otherwise, regular text messaging fee will apply.

- Modified SMS UI to support pages. So, now user can save more history.

Build 9812 released.
-Added AppToDate Support.
-Added a new option for user to adjust Google SMS Service number. This way user can use the service provided in his/her country.

08/06/2009
Build 9804 released.
-Create a brand new finger-friendly GUI that supports finger scrolling as well as navigate through categories with buttons.
-Move all data to external XML files so that new categories can be added without recompiling the entire source code.
-Display textbox now supports finger scrolling as well as navigate up/down with buttons.
-Added feature: automatically remove entries that are older than 5 days.
-Added feature: Save search history can now be turn on/off
-There will be 2 versions, 1 version is with Icons as shown in screenshot. The other is without Icons.

Beta v0.2 released.
-Fixed minor bug where google sms is saved as a contact, GooSMS doesn't capture received message.
-Add ability to send an item on a list.
-Should work with wm 6.5 now.

tried it on a wm 6.5 rom w/ threaded sms turned on. tachi notification enhancement cooked in. sprint touch pro vga. the sms sends fine, but the app never notices when it receives one. any ideas?

I'm sorry to say but i haven't tested on wm 6.5 yet. So, the limit for this app should be up to wm 6.1. This app doesn't use any of those addon applications. I'm guessing the windows sms notification event is different on wm 6.5

I'm happy to hear you like it. Remember all information you received are from Google. I just made it more user friendly.

ahhh, too bad... nice work though

btw.. try a 6.5 ROM, i was hesitant too, but now I am never going back to 6.1....

I installed the .net framework 3.5 and the 0.2 Beta of GOOSMS. It sends but never receives an answer.
