Default How do I find out what class sd card I have?

I only have what came with the phone...it's a 2gb and its plenty enough space for now as long as it is a class 6. I'm sure I'll want more later on but I'd hate to waste the current one I have now. Is there an app that tests as card access speed?

Just look at the card, it has either a 2 or a 4 or a 6 in a circle stamped on it. Thats the class. The class = the number of MB/S it can transfer. A class 6, for example, transfers approximately 6mb / sec.

yeah I read about that but I'm pretty sure I would have figured that much out just by looking at it but there is no writing that implies class 2, 4 or 6 on it. It is a Sandisk 2gb card. Is there a program that can test it's access speed?

Yeah, you can plug it into a pc with an adapter and check how fast you can write to it, but if its the one that came with the G1 it is probably a class 2. Get a Trancend class 6 from Amazon for like $20 us or so. Big difference. There should be a circle with a number on it on all sd micro cards, you may need a magnifying glass if your eyes are as as bad as like mine..

Yep, feel free to use this tool, h2test 1.4 - http://sharebee.com/b26bb1b8

Not only can you detect the read/write speeds but also if the memory card is a fake or not. If you've ever bought a memory card (most common being Mem Stick DUO PROs) and had less then great performance/storage then use this tool to test it.

Check out the readme to find out more.
