I should probably specify that the issue is happening with the 'My Location' city. I can manually update the weather of cities that I add in the weather tab.
Running Energy.RAPHAEL.21892.Sense2.1.17.Feb.2010. (upgraded from EnergyROM_21864_RAPHAEL_22.Oct.2009_Standard)
I have noticed that the phone app is cut off, you cannot access the "keypad" or "end call" buttons with your finger. end call is not a big deal, since there is a hardware button, but keypad is a problem.
This also happens when receiving a call, the slide to ignore is cut off.
Also, whats up with the black background on the today clock? It's kinda ugly.
Other then that, this ROM is great, much faster, more snappy performance, and I am overall very pleased with it.
Some of us experienced a issue with dialer, like yours: when we call or receive a call the buttons Keypad/End call or Answer/Ignore are dispayed too low on the screen, covered by the bottom bar.
This happens because we are using WVGA dialers, that are "pushed up" on the screen by phcanvga.exe created by amarullz.
When we start or soft reset the device everything works fine, but when for some reason we restart graphical interface (touch flo or sense), for example using CleanRAM, that phcanvga.exe is shut down (because it is in the windows startup folder...but if we don't restart device but only graphical interface it will not start again).
For these reason we have Keypad/End call or Answer/Ignore dispayed too low on the screen, covered by the bottom bar.
This issue appears only to people (like me) that use CleanRAM or other similar applications.
There are 3 possibly solutions:
1 - Add phcanvga.exe, cprog.exe and manila.exe to cleanRAM exceptions
2 - Install Tachi dialer (that is native vga) and in the folder Windows/Startup delete "phcanvga".
Here are some Tachi dialers customized to EnergyROM style: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...24&postcount=1
Remember: with Task Manager be sure to kill cprog.exe and phcanvga.exe before installing!!!!
3 - When buttons are not displayed properly restart this phcanvga.exe that will "push up" again phone canvas.
Just to be clear. I know that WEP is pretty weak, but as long as your firewall is properly setup how big of deal is it that someone else can use your wifi?
It's not like most homes wifi has a large range, so unless your in an apartment, your going to notice the guy parked in front of your house.
Are you that conscerned with the bandwidth they are taking from you?
It's no different than the local coffee shop that offers wifi to everyone.
Along with WEP, you also have https on top of it for anything that needs to be secure or any other cryptography algorithms that the website chooses to use for encryption.
This is probably the wrong place to discuss this. Was more just pointing out that alot of people get so hung up security, when normally there is nothing to worry about.
[EDIT]Noticed the link is about WEP-104. At home, I use 128 bit WEP. Just read that is really 104.
To generate my key, I enter a series of random letters and numbers to generate the key.
[/EDIT]
Now if you work for the CIA, NSA, NCIS, IRS, or the Mafia it probably pays to be very paranoid about security.
I dont know how your internet access works in the states, but in Australia we pay for a plan with xGB of downloads... so if you have neighbours/randoms "jacking" your WiFi connection then it isnt just bandwidth they're stealing but your actual download quota! I had a friend who lived in the inner city (think lots of apartment blocks etc) who ran an unsecured WLAN network until one month his entire month worth of download quota was used up in just a matter of days... He learned his lesson for not having encryption setup. And since WEP can be compromised easily i really dont see a reason NOT to use the stronger WPA, and i also enforce MAC address filtering since i have a known list of devices that I want to be allowed to connect
Whoops... let me rephrase that.... I meant to say.... the icons on the soft keys buttons when you are in email.
They are in your windows folder, all but the keyboard icon. If you were using the ClassicBlue theme, the names would be classicblue_bubble_flag, delete, menu, and foo. You also have a disabled for each.

Thank you very much for the information. I found my problem. In an attempt to help startup time, I had deleted phcanvga.exe from startup. When I launched the program, all is well. I will now add it back into startup, and also add to exceptions in CleanRam. Again, thanks for the information!
