Question GPS Signal loss

I searched a found several posts that say that using GPS Gate will fix problems with signal loss on the GPS. My GPS worked perfectly under factor 6.0, started failing using 6.1. Does anyone have a real explanation for what is going on, and if there is a cooked 6.1 or 6.5 that fixes the issue without relying on running some other "fixer" program first?

From my investigation, it appears that the GPS just stops sending for long periods (often 30 - 45 seconds) and then sends a burts of several messages, and then goes silent again. Repeat and rinse. This obviously drives Destinator 6 MAD (although "visualgpsce" seems to get updates every few seconds. Don't know why unless that program is polling for GPS data instead of waiting for it to be sent).

Anybody notice whacky GPS performance late last week?
Me and a friend had the GPS totally fail Friday and Saturday (it said we were 100's of miles from where we actually were).

Now it's back to normal.

Satellite glitch?

bteljuice, joshkoss,

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, updating factory 6.1 with the 1.70.19.09 radio didn't help. I'm not sure it's the radio - some programs work and others do not, while all worked fine under WM6.0. I am running Destinator 6, which loses the signal every 3 or 4 seconds for up to several minutes, and also VisualGPSCe, which works perfectly... - what software are you folks running?

Default Abt ur GPS woes: not sure if it true

Google this "GPS System May Soon Begin Deteriorating"

There is alot of thread on this but cant seems to locate the offical source.

This might be 1 of the possible reason to explain how our GPS goes whaco at times.
