Hero or Zero
Well, in the last 8 weeks, I have had (and sold/returned)...
TP2
Touch HD
N97
TP2 (yes, 2 of them!)
Samsung i8910
N96
And now, the Hero......
Well, I had the G1, and really liked Android, but did not like the actual G1 build.
I really wanted the Hero to be the one, you know, to actually replace my 1 year old iPhone 3G
Ain't gonna be so sadly. I think that if you come to the Hero by way of most phones, you will like it quite a lot. If you currently have (and like!) the iPhone, well I think you will struggle.
The Google factor. Just put in your gmail account details, and bang, all your contacts are live, all your calendars (well I only have 3) are live, and the email app is great.
But, on iPhone, gmail works superbly well. Text is bigger, a big deal for these old eyes, and the screen is brighter (by quite a bit)
Also, iPhone syncs 2 of of my calendars well, and the 3rd one is just the weather anyway :)
And google contacts load and update just fine on iPhone.
On the Hero, I can not read my ereader ebooks, on iPhone I can. I knew this though, so feel a little bit guilty raising it here.
Sigh, I just don't know what comes next. I am bored by the iPhone now, but buggar all beats it yet.
Of all the phones above, the TP2 is the closest to perfection for me, but its a bit heavy, and the wobbly tilt and more importantly the gaps in the top and bottom halfs were a big issue for me.
So i got a Touch HD, thought this is the same thing as TP2, but much more iPhone like.....strange, but its nothing like as nice as the TP2 (or the iPhone)
Now, compared to the piece of **** that is the N97.....well, Hero is simply a......well..Hero I guess.
Ah buggar, back to the drawing board......
