cant hardreset the hero !!

i tried the hard reset "menu+back+ power key" it gets me the the reset menu but all it dose is restarts the phone! also tried the "factory data reset" also just restarts the phone !

whats going on ?

I did a factory data reset, and it worked, coz I got all the initial setup screens again, so no idea

ok, after more than 30 failed attempts it suddenly worked !! so i decided to do it again just after i setup the phone and it happened again then again it worked after 4~5 attempts .
