Default 13/08 1.0 - MoDaCo Hero Rosie Remover

Nice and simple this... by popular request... a Rosie remover for Hero! It simply deletes all the Rosie and widget files to return you to the 'stock' Android look. Saves you a bit of space too!

Yes, you can achieve exactly the same thing via the command prompt, this just makes it a bit easier for newbies...

This update is designed to be applied on top of a standard build, using the recovery image linked below. DO A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!

Details and download:

Okay. I might have just fudged up. I got too excited and did the update.zip *without* making a nandroid back-up..
Pure speculation, but if I decide I want the Rosie stuff back on how should I pull that off?

Is there an advantage between this and doing the method where you go into manage applications and clear defaults to go back to Android default?

So how much faster and slicker is the Hero with Rosie removed ?

I've heard reports that it is much faster and I'm kind of tempted......

Only clearing the default will still keep the Sense UI in memory, it has its own process if you take peek with a taskmanager (I think its called TouchFlo or something). Removing it completely obviously wont have it running anymore

I ran the Rosie remover on my Hero and it feels a lot faster indeed. All together a more fluid experience now

does this remove anything else other than touchflo and support files? Like the music player and any other hero apps?

The apps are all there (calendar, people, mail, messages, music) and they still work
