If your using WinRar on your computer, you have to Un-Associate ".Cab" in the preferences settings in order to have a properly working ".Cab" file. Then transfer to phone and it should work
Device:

AT&T Tilt 2

I've used it heavily for the past few months.

You don't get "call waiting" while on WinMo version and it is a bit cumbersome when needing to use the keypad on a call - but it is functional if not decorative.

flashlight won't work because you don't have lights.
unless i'm mistaken and it's one of those apps that just turns your screen all white.

My wife found one for her iPhone, but I found that it is also for WinMo & Android.

It is called Waze. It is a FREE turn by turn navigation software that is community based. It has a pleasant female voice, and is I would say at least 90% accurate. 3-D imaging, and more. You can even type in alerts for other drivers, such as if you saw an accident that was tying up traffic, you can report it, so that other "wazers" can try to reroute.

It works good, with about "average" useage of resources while active. You can even join / create groups. Such as I created the "Anchorage Waze Points" group, for users in Anchorage Alaska.

It DOES require you to create a user account, for the software, and it is a learning GPS. Meaning that over time it "learns" your routes and guides you accordingly. It does have a built in search function for inputting addresses & such.

All in all I would give it a 8.35 out of 10. It's not perfect, but it is good, and the price is worth it.

Yes -- and a white screen almost illuminates an entire room in the dark.
White draws more of battery as well.

Wrong. This is a common misconception. But for an LCD screen, the backlight is illuminated the same whether the screen is displaying white or any other color (such as black). A black screen just lets less of the backlight show through. A white screen does not consume any more battery than black for an LCD display.

A white screen on an LED (such as AMOLED) will consume more than black. But that doesn't apply to this phone.
