Screen ON (OFF) --> Data ON (OFF)?

hey guys... i was wondering if theres any possibility to setup the device so the data connection behaves like wifi (default settings)?

which means that data connection is only on when the screen is on. i hate it when i take the device out to lookup something very quickly and the connection isnt ready or on the other hand when its setting up a data connection when the screen is off (awful sound when near speakers! i hate it!)

always on isnt an option since the next time id turn my display on the battery would be drained

hope someone can give me some advice

But isn't that exactly what you're asking for? You want the data connection to be off when the screen is off - ofcourse it the connection won't be ready as soon as you turn on your screen then...

yeah but it will be when i opened up some application. otherwise itll first start to connect when i e.g. type in a website or something u kno? would be easier imo ^^
it wouldnt be a problem it the connection was constant but the battery life is just ridiculous...
