Howdy peeps i thought id make a nice contribution to this lovely forum which has opened up my world of Android
So i have written some software for use on windows which will basically fully ROOT your HTC Hero for you without the risk of screwing up somewhere and end up with a dead £400 phone
The Software Includes
Fully Automatic rooting procedure
ADB and Fastboot Built in no need for android sdk
Working USB Drivers Built in xp32 Vista 32/64
Information on making nandroid backups and restores
and SD Parted Script for formating SD CARDS

This Has been tested on HTC Hero

Got a route cheers. Clicking the ADB Flash button doesn't seem to do anything. Should I click this when my phone boots up into normal phone mode or do I need to go back to fastboot. How can I check that ADB Flash has worked?

I will look into this for you but there's no worries you can just fast boot recovery if you want custom roms etc its good to know u have root. I'll be back with update as soon as

This seems to have answered the prayers. So we do not have to do rooting ourself but this will do it. What should we do with it. Run it off the PC or take it to the card etc. No need for partition of card etc?
Please advise about exact procedure.

After unzipping I could see android.exe but no relentless rooter.exe, so where is it?

So c: is my computer drive file not the cd card which happens to be d:, and I can not cange the program to look in d:\rooting,
