I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM AND I NEED HELP!! when i download the ROM file in Rapid-share, the file opens automatically, but instead of it opening in WinRaR i get a Windows message saying ''The archive is either in unknown format or damaged.''.. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY IT DOES THIS, IVE TRYED DOWNLOADING THE FILE IN ANOTHER COMPUTER BUT IT STILL SAYS THE SAME THING WITH THIS SAME ROM FILE..
PLZ HELP!..
A) it's not a ROM file, it's an image file.
B) It's not a winrar archive.
My suggestion to you is that you learn more about Android and recovery images and root privileges before trying to flash an image... but if you insist...
Download and follow the directions on the first page.
Ultimately it's you're phone that you'll destroy.
Also - next time try leaving a message without screaming!

You using a GSM Hero?
If so, use BTDAG's guide linked in my signature for installation instructions without using ADB command things.

Do you not read the posts? It's not an archive. it's an image. just follow the instructions from the first post.

Dude stop stressing people out.
You do not need to open the .img file.
Your PC is trying to open it with some program as soon as it downloads, you need to tell your PC not to do that.
So download the .zip i put up, open that and you will see the .img, then drag that .img to your desktop, DO NOT OPEN IT.
Then either follow the instructions in the 1st post, or follow BTDAG's guide in my signature!!!!

I realize that. i mean that when I try flashing a new recovery image, i lose my ability to boot into recovery completely, and need to redo everything. it hangs at the "HTC" screen when i try to boot to recovery mode.
