Wonderful app. Im just curious though, where do the songs get downloaded to? Sorry if that was a dumb question.

I was wondering the same thing. I have both and I personally like the look of the other one and the functionality and name of this one. Of course Its completely up to the developer and i don't want to tell them what to do at all.

Nilezon has given up his Grooveshark duties. So this one is going to be the only one from now on I think.

Personally I also like the look of nilezon's, but we have been assured that a major GUI update is coming, so fingers crossed!

Sorry, I should have updated my first post! The pre-alpha version, which I never released, saved the song as an MP3 and then opened WMP to play it. It didn't work properly.

All public releases so far don't store the MP3 at all - it is passed straight to the audio player. This is how it is going to stay - I don't want people downloading songs from Grooveshark for obvious reasons.

As far why nilezon and I aren't cooperating on this - see the first post. This is a personal project of mine to get an application working on Windows Mobile. Something I've not done before, incidently! That, and I know what kind of features I'd like to see in a mobile media player, and doing it myself gives me the opportunity to do it how I see fit. It's not a competition.

Best app on my pocket PC. The Album art support is great. Where is the app getting it from? One feature idea is a volume control with small increments. The windows one is much too loud. Thanks for the great work!

Default Great!

Good start! For the sake of comparison, nilezon's had the look, but it almost never played a song on my device without locking up (HTC Vogue). I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one. Great job

I 100% agree with you, this app is much better. The only thing i would like to see is a pause and play button. Also when you search for a song and click on one of the options and realize that its not the correct one I hit back and the search results are no longer there. Thanks again

I'm currently integrating all of the new components together to make beta version 1. This includes a massively overhauled (or, specifically, replaced) user interface that fits all of the features from the alpha version onto a single form. This isn't as cramped as you might think, especially on a WVGA screen.

I'll try try try to remember to post some screenshots later! All being well, and without any roadblocks / losses of momentum, the beta should be out this week.

@moonscapex - The artwork comes from Grooveshark too, as does all song information, and the music stream itself.

Screenshot.

Should give you a good idea of how the interface has improved! I'm still working on the actual player (at the bottom) which is why it looks a little bare.
