Here's what's on the menu today...




Today I'm serving up an HTC Touch Pro 2 ROM, based on Windows Mobile 6.5. The current build number and date can be seen in the title of the thread.

I build my ROMs with four main goals.

• Eye candy
• Speed !!!
• Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
• Stability through private beta testing before public release

I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go, how I'd want it. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the 'box'.

You will find a new ROM posted here every few days, as I always update them with the latest "ingredients" that come down the pipe, from either Microsoft or HTC. Because of that, I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). I also provide an example script to use to save your email settings in one of the posts below.


You will find TWO core versions of my ROM.

• The 21891 Build is from the OEM COM2 Tree and is the most reliable and bug free release. I recommend you start with this first!

And...

• The 23529 Build that's the latest in the 6.5.5 series with the Start/Close buttons at the bottom. These builds are not as compatible with older apps as 21891 but they reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft.

• Build 23529 uploaded
• Added MaxManila 3.0 ROMs
• Added aGPS settings back to control panel
• Clock and Alarm buttons on homescreen match the clock panel again
• Caleandar pane is transparent again
• Fixed G Sensor rotation in the Album tab (thanks to Maxy !)

February 4th, 2010:

• Builds 21891 and 23519 uploaded
• Brand new, the freshest available, 2011 packages throughout the whole ROM
• Facebook updated

• Updated ROM theme with glossy bars
• More RAM available (lowered pagepool)
• Opera startup issues (no menu buttons) fixed
• Phone should not go to Today after sleep anymore and stay where you left it

• MaxManila 2.9 version added to the mix (lots of bugs fixed according to Maxy)
• Reverted back to the 'signature' EnergyROM taskbar icons and of course the 1% battery display

January 20th, 2010:

• White background bug fixed
• Updated taskbar/softkeybar graphics by cmylxgo
• Updated startup sound by dedblank
• Updated GL drivers for a smoother Sense experience
• New dialer graphics

January 14th, 2010:

• Completely new ROM, just try it!
• Threaded email for 23518 builds (awesome!)
• HQ Background for all tabs mod (thanks to santod040)
• New startup sound and intro animations
• New 2010 Theme and 2008 "Retro" theme
• Tweaked "QuickeMenu" in 6.5.X builds
• Reenabled SMS/MMS account in WM messaging app
• Etc... many more things I did not keep track of over the last few weeks

I'm assuming from the screenshots that Landscape is still only working for Albums and Music?

I'll just re-ask a question: Is there any way to enable East Asian character support on the phone? So that emails properly render Chinese and Japanese characters?

i really love this rom i got the mms to work but landscape is killing me...when i go to contacts and wanna edit soon as i slide my keyboard either i get half a screen or a black screen..
