The problem seems more common when I have over 100 messages but still pops up occasionally when I have much less. It could more related to how many threads I have since I notice it more when I have a lot of Facebook notifications. The most common problem is the main WinMo SMS window will show all the conversations after I close a thread, but the top portion of the window will not finish drawing for 5-30 seconds. It just amazes me that after 5 years or more this issue still exists in HTC phones.

did you ever find out what is wrong? i have to same problem with may 1st rom and can not unlock my phone. i have been putting in the right password, but still is not unlocking... please help!

Of course you are right. But with new people constantly appearing on here, these responses and debating about them very much clutters up the thread. If you are worried about thread clutter, maybe the senior members can refrain from bickering with newbies and find a more efficient solution. One solution would be to ignore newbies and let other newbies answer them. Another would to possibly have senior members crop their post and insert a link to the FAQ? Just trying to help. I too get tired of thread clutter.

I have been running 23xx all the time and just upgraded to today's version too but I am going to try 21908 and post my findings in about an hour.

If you are referring to the first screen that displays after a boot, that is not part of the NRG rom. Some ROMs manage to update this and after installing the energy rom, my old rom still showed up in the initial boot splash. Here is a link that discuss it, I couldn't find the one I used for my tilt but some additonal searching you can find the right rhodium programs if you want to change it.

Don't worry, it was the SD card, I replaced and everything is wortking good now.

Downloaded the 7/8 ROM, installing it now.
