This is a bit off topic, but since I brought it up...

Waze has three options upon hitting the close button. One is to minimize and reopen in 30 seconds. This is very useful to me, I've found. Another is to minimize only. The third option is to close it altogether. If you don't select the third option, it will not close. This program does use a good bit of memory, but there are several things it does in the background. The program maintains an active data connection from the time you open it, until about 30-60 seconds after you close it. It is constantly caching the map data while it is active so that you can use the program while offline. It also updates and stores lots of other things, like your points, road hazards, groups, and other users' locations. Because of all this downloading and storing, it is going to slow down the device. It's best to have the Rhodium overclocked above 700MHz for this to run smoothly. This app runs best on the HD2 and other 1GHz devices, it seems.

Also, make sure you're using one of the RAM-saving start menus. Waze will kill everything else (if it even opens) if you have less than about 30-40MB free. I use the CSM, and I get about 70MB free after properly closing the app. If you aren't recovering RAM, run cleanRAM to free up more.

This certainly isn't the best GPS out there, but it is easily the most fun to use. Being able to edit your area to improve the service reminds me of the XDA community quite a bit. I just got around to actually registering today, but I've been playing with the program for a couple of days now. I'm liking it quite a bit so far. I haven't even had to pull out TomTom at all. The best thing is that Waze learns routes as you drive and will route you using better directions as you use it more. Also, if you are in an area with lots of other users, this improves your service as well.

I'm recommending it to everyone. This is a solid app. Be careful, though, as the one caveat so far is that it does not seem to support landscape mode. Opening the keyboard seems to take you to a black or white screen until you press the back hard key or end hard key to return to minimize it. It opens properly upon relaunching, however. Also, one thing that tripped me up was that you have to register in the app, not the website. To progress along the registration screen, you need to hit the enter key on the SIP keyboard. That's about the only negatives I can think of so far.

Outside of that, this is a VERY accurate GPS program. There is virtually no lag whatsoever. Because users can change things, the house addresses and streets are all extremely on point. I have not had to second guess much of anything so far. The routes come up fairly quickly depending on the length of travel, but re-routing takes a while longer than I would like. I found a missing street in my neighborhood and had it mapped in the length of time it took me to drive down that street.

I'd like to see some bugs fixed, like landscape support and a few bug fixes for showing the SIP keyboard, but outside of that, I'd give this a 4 out of 5.

I am running the latest rom, Energy.RHODIUM.21916.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Touch.Of. Glass.Dec.05
and I have notice the past three days (since the flashing) that my WiFi turns on by itself.
If it does not connect to a network, I can go into the Comm Manager and turn it back off but I am assuming I am losing a fair amount of battery juice by having it on when I do not use it (I rarely find a open WiFi and use 3G almost exclusively).

Has anyone else experienced this or have a idea on how to fix the issue?

I have been trying to change color fonts using cht editor v2 so far, I been able to change font color in miscellaneous
Main Text Colour and;
Sub Text Colour

When I try to do the same in Widget settings

Messages and Mail I am able to change the settings but after sence reset the colors remains in the same white color? any ideas or suggesstions?

I seem to recall seeing this same problem somewhere, but it escapes me at the moment. Try to remove the wifi widget from CHT and then restart. Add the widget again, and restart. See if it still happens. I'll try to remember where I had seen this problem and its solution and post here again if I can find it.

this is a new add-on built into the rom from EXCT V1.1 .. using EXCT you can also configure .xml and .reg files to import other settings, (email) your (WIFI SSID) etc etc
I'd assume most use it, but if not, just turn it off



EDIT...> designed to import items at/on first boot, including alarm settings for those of (ME) who forget to set them up after flashing, just configure it and go, no more remembering to import said items

I cannot find any reference / program to EXCT anywhere in my phone. I am not sure if you mean the program is supposed to be cooked into the rom or that I may have imported a bad setting (no setting were imported in my latest flash). One thing I have noticed / tested, is that when I plug in the usb cable to sync or charge, a minute or so later the wifi comes on. I am not sure what the trigger might be during the day but I can duplicate the sync cable issue over and over.

NRG may have just implemented certain CABS and FILES like WI-FI auto on, lets see if i added this link correctly, thread is only 20 pages, but start with first post on page 19 then i recommend reading through from page 1 for tips and tricks
