Default I would like to update my Rom ... What will I loose?

Hi There,

I have been reading the forums for the last couple of days cause I saw something about JacHero and I thought I would like to put that on my phone.

I have reading posts and trying to figure out what I have to do next, but I have to ask a couple questions 1st?

1) I am using the last JesusFreke rom, how do I know if I have to update the ROM and SPL? Can I check on my G1?

2) I have read about how you have to partition your SDCard for the who swap and Apps2SD thing, I have a 1GB SDcard ... do I need a bigger one?

3) There are so many different builds of the Hero ... How do I know what is stable, fast and popular?

4) My current Rom has all of the google apps so all of contacts, calander, and contacts sync perfectly with google's server, does the Hero rom do the same?

Thanks

Mike

normally the thread with the ROM will have the versions you need to update listed. I believe JacHeroSki needs the 1.33.2500 SPL which you can check from the fastboot screen (back+power)

You can use a 1GB sd card, but at least a 2-4+ is recommended. Also a class 6 is recommended.

As far as stability of the ROMs themselves, read the threads and choose for yourself. Most are pretty stable nowadays.

AFAIK all of the current hero ROMs have all of the google apps with them as well. So you shouldnt have any problems.

Also remember to wipe before flashing the new ROM when going to a hero build, and probably back to a "normal" ROM if you choose to do so as well.
