Why is this section of the forum called Leo?

Yes, I know that the HD2 was originally touted as being called that, but it's not called that, and will not be called that.

This forum should be renamed to HD2.

It's currently referencing a name that has never existed, and will never exist (as far as we're currently aware. Something else could end up being called Leo, so it makes sense to name this place correctly now.)

Come on admins - please?

'Leo' is the codename for the HD2.

Just like 'Blackstone' is for the Touch HD.

XDA-Developers lists phones by codename

What annoys me is that the Leo section is near the bottom of forum.xda-developers.com, which is quite a long page now - would it not be more logical to put the newest phones at the top?

It would be logical, but then most of us would get confused
There was request a while back to put it in Alphabetic order, but it was shot down for the same reason ().

Ctrl+F anybody?? bookmarks? :P

Is there an actual setup for the way it is ordered? I used to think it was in the order they came out but it seems not now.

I cannot find a logic why it can't be named as Leo? Everyone has been expecting and speculating Leo, and here finally we have the HD2, I'm very comfortable XDA Developer is recognizing the code name Leo as HD2

The reason why devices are listed by code name is because sometimes there might be variants of the same device.

For example:

The HTC Artemis is the code name for the XDA Orbit and the MDA Compact III

Both are the same devices but XDA-Developers are not going to make seperate forums for the XDA Orbit and MDA Compact III even though they are the same device.

Instead, they use the codename of the device so that everyone can relate to it. Problem solved.

Regarding the HTC Leo, they have listed it as 'Leo' even though there is probably only going to be one variant of the device - HD2. This is because from the start they have used codenames for listing their devices, so it would be illogical to stop using codenames halfway through.

That is my best understanding of it, I could be wrong.
