sorry, that date of "dec. 29, 2009" is not enough info. I seem to recall talking to a guy who had an old ticket which was reopened with a new question, but I'm not sure if that's it, and I don't have any keyword to search for - so, what is the ticket number or give me the start of your email address (don't need the entire address)?
I see you said you figured it out, but if you don't mind, then I'm still curious.
also, definitely thanks for your help in the sim unlocker thread etc.
wow...how desperate and pathetic. lol
Hey doc, at least she said thanks. lol

Would one of you be so kind as to guide me to the download of a ROM for my HTC Touch PRO2 Telus (which is GSM+CDMA)
I was able to Hard SPL my phone with a little help from you friends and now need a good ROM to get my phone going
Earlier i was writing another ROM which was a GSM Only ROM and that led to "Flash Write Error" and then i realized that I need another ROM which is more for my GSM+CDMA Model.

You can only flash CDMA ROMs. Head over to PPC Geeks [dot] com to find the majority of CDMA ROMs. I think only Sharkie has a CDMA ROM hosted on XDA.
It doesn't matter if your device is capable of GSM. If it is a CDMA device, it will only ever be able to use CDMA ROMs. If you try to flash any GSM ROM, you will brick it.
As far as which ROM to use, you could search the forum here. Dozens of people ask about which ROM to flash all the time. We always answer them the same way. It's a matter of opinion. Keep flashing different CDMA ROMs until you find one you like. I've been flashing for quite some time now and still haven't settled on one single ROM. I flash a different one a few times a week.

Hi Cajun Flavored Bob,
Thanks a lot for all your advice.
I was able to successfully HARD SPL my HTC Touch Pro 2
And not only that. I even tried two ROMs.......Both Windows 6.5......One for Verizon and another for US Cellullar. And they both loaded fine without any problems. So I can upgrade to Windows 6.5 also
I also tried my Telus ROM (Windows 6.1) and that loaded fine too
Thanks again for all your help. I hope you won't mind if I ask a few more questions seeking your expert advice.
1. Now that I have the Telus ROM with me, is it correct that I can never brick my Phone? I mean, if at all something goes wrong, all I have to do it flash that original ROM right?
2. With Windows 6.5 Mobile installed (Verizon or USC), in the Modem Connection, i see only two values in the Drop Down (those 2 are Cellular Line and Hayes Compatible on COM1). With my original Telus Windows 6.1 there used to be another value called Cellular Line (GPRS and 3G). Could you please let me know if there is a way to get that value back? I mean, I cannot use Internet with my phone on another network without that value.
3. Even after flashing a ROM, i still see the Calendar Entries Intact. I thought that this process of flashing a ROM Erases everything and starts fresh. Is it not like that?
Thanks again for your help and look forward to your response.

1. You can still brick your device. You are taking a risk by flashing a non-stock ROM onto your device. You should take the time to become familiar with the terminology and functions of the device before getting too far ahead of yourself. You haven't even scratched the surface of your device yet. Normally, if something goes wrong, booting into bootloader and flashing a stock ROM can clear it up. It's generally helpful to understand what exactly you are doing to your device BEFORE you do it.
If you don't understand something, ask. Be sure to search around before asking, though. Users here have lots of knowledge they can pass on to you if you show them that your are willing to do the work. If you show that you are willing to help yourself to information, most members here will bend over backward to help you solve a problem.
2. You're using a ROM not designed to run on your network. Cellular carriers often restrict or remove parts of the OS as they are intended to be used only on their network. The ROMs you've flashed are for CDMA only networks. The USC ROM does not have an option to use GSM networks to my knowledge, and the Verizon ROM manages it automatically once the device is SIM unlocked.
3. You may not be overwriting the part of the memory where this is stored. You should learn to perform task29 between flashes of any ROM. task29 is a tool that will format the internal memory of the device. This means that it erases everything, including the ROM image from the internal memory. This essentially gives you a clean slate to work from.
After doing this, you can boot back into bootloader and flash a new ROM without worrying that your data isn't fully removed. Make sure you read, read, read, on what and how task29 is and does before using it.
Think of your internal memory this way:
__
|_| = block of memory
A = ROM image
B = Program data
C = User data
__________________ |A|A|A|B|B|C|_|_|_|
If your internal memory has nine blocks to write to, it will begin to do so in order. If you then flash a new ROM image of a different size (we'll say ROM "D" in this case), the data tells it where to put the information. It is logically written in order again, overwriting the previous ROM like so:
__________________ |D|D|D|D|B|C|_|_|_|
Now the ROM "D" has overwritten the majority of the data from the previous ROM, but has left the old data in tact. It may or may not have actual access to this data causing some weird glitches on occasion as the new ROM image is moving about accessing various parts of the build. This may cause it to read old calendar dates as you've seen, or it may even have simple, but strange issues that don't normally occur. Generally a task29 will simply erase all of those blocks and allow you to start from scratch with no problems.
Hopefully this explains your problems better. In the future, however, please make sure to post in the relevant threads for what you are asking for, or use the PM system for off-topic/irrelevant questions. For example, ROM questions should be asked in their appropriate threads and task29 issues in that thread. This one is specifically for Hard SPL topics.
Happy flashing.

Hi Cajun Flavoured Bob,
I did my first task 29 today Everything went well
I am using a Verizon ROM now. Hope it helps resolve my Internet Connection problem
I also wanted to ask you one question. Do you know of a ROM to change the language of the phone to Spanish?
