Angry How to disable the scroll wheel

Hi everyone,

The scroll wheel is annoying me especially when dialing (It accidentally scroll down dialing to the wrong person) I am OK with zooming but not scrolling. I prefer to use the up,down, left & right buttons

Anyone know a tweak to disable the scroll wheel control?

Thanks

The registry settings for control the wheel are in HKLM/Software/HTC/smartTouch.
Maybe from there you can control the behaviour. I haven't try it though.

engalnoor: Scroll wheel function is mantained via driver from HTC. You can remove it (via cooking; I am not sure if it can be removed from already built rom), but you will loose all functions connected to scroll wheel. This includes not only scrolling in lists, but also zooming in supported apps.

Default Still don't want it

I prefer to lose all scroll wheel functions & features over being annoyed with it's misinterpetations

Is there anyway to disable it from the regisry or so?

I am really suffering

If it doesn't buther you to loose the wheel functions, you can do this:
Create a new text document and rename it to SmartTouch.dll
Copy the file somewhere in the device and using resco explorer copy or move it to windows directory and overwrite the original one.
Soft reset device

I see I'm a late commer but here are my two cents:

I believe the wheelcount value is the wheel sensitivity setting - meaning how many wheel steps/degrees/whatever are needed to move the cursor. So, changing it to higher number may solve the unwanted move issue while still maintaining the functionality of this element (which I personally love ).
