Hi, all there German Polaris Users...

We are proud to present our first German WM6.5 ROM.
For sure it's not perfect and not free of bugs at all, but I think we did our very best. This is a Manila ROM, Titanium will not work. A Titanium only ROM will be possible in the future, if there is a need of it. Most Packages are from the HTC MEGA Rom development. But we are planning a Release of Build 23508 with the all new LEO stuff.

This ROM has been portet and customized by SteveP86 and me.
Most porting work has been done by Steve, while I did most on customizing and we hope you will like our work.

Known Bugs:

- It not always appears but Home Weather sometimes does not update as it should. But I will post a CAB to fix it in my next post.
- You can speed up the Touchscreen sensitivity so that it feels a bit more flawless. Look at the Polaris Tips and Tweaks threat how to do that. Registry-Fix in 3rd post
- Lazy Touch Commander Registry-Fix in 3rd post
- Low RAM after second boot ~25MB, after htcCleanRAM Stage 2 ~28MB (If anyone knows how to increase that value, we would be thankful for informations Registry-Fix in 3rd post
- Backlight stays dimmed until unlocked.
- QuickGPS isn't working
- Some have BT-Headset issues

Fixes for slow Touchscreen, edit following RegestryKeys with CeRegEditor :

Increase Touchflo sensitivity
- HKLM\software\OEM\TFLOSettings\FingerPressure
- Change from default 2908 to 10892
and
- HKLM\Drivers\Touchpanel\Pressure Threshold
- change from default 18866 to 40866 makes the scroll better

Reduce TapDelay
- HKLM/System/GWE/Touch/Filter/MinimumTapTime
- change from default 40 to 5 or less (ms)

Low Memory solution
delete the following registry keys
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Apps\P reLoadRes]

first of all: THANKS for sharing your work! it's nice to have a german 6.5 rom.

what i discoverd so far:

if you apply the cab file (home weather update), manila does not start anymore. you have to hard reset.
weather update on homescreen does not work with gprs connection, but with wifi!
voice speed dial doesn't exist (or does not work).
it's a pity, that there is only one option in ezinput... (no phone keypad for example)

everything else seems fine at the moment... tomtom works, bluetooth, wifi...
and i do like the touch response settings... to hold your finger a little longer on an entry in file explorer for example... it reduces unwanted actions.

one last question: is it possible to add new words to the t9 system? with the old ezinput, there has been an option to add new words (to xt9 i think). i can't see any possibility to do it with the new ezinput.

please keep up the good work!!

EDIT: one big issue noticed: if a bluetooth headset is connected, you can neither hear anyone you call, nor can the reciever of the call hear you. a soft reset is necessary. calls without a headphone do work.

Hi, first of all, I'm glad you basically like our ROM.

- First you should reflash your device and perform a manual hard reset first. That sometimes is needed (even for me).
- Not everybody needs to install the HomeWeatherUpdate.cab only if your Home Weather does not update automatically. It is a MortScript that actualizes from Weather Tab every 15 Minutes. And actualization works on both GPRS/3G and Wifi from Weather Tab. But you are right, that actualization does not work from Home Tab. It's just a workaround.
- The Voice Speed Dial issue is new, but we will check it out. (look at the bottom)
- The EzInput 2.0 is not fully compatible with our device, and there is no fully working one for QVGA. If you more like or need the other input layouts, just install BJK EzInput 1.5 where all layouts are working. And by the way they need a litte less space on the Touchscreen. This is what I did myself. For sorry I was not able to cook them in, but you can use the cabs you find in this forum. XT9 even works with them.
- The Bluetooth problem you have, can not be verified and even fixed by me because I don't have a Headset to try with, but possibly Steve can help you out there, if he has one.... Sorry


Edit: VoiceCommand (Voice Speed Dial) isn't cooked in.

first of all thanks for this rom. It works very well, but sometimes it freezes on my Polaris.
Is it possible for you to cook an "light" version of this rom ?
For example I don´t use Manila but SPB Mobile Shell, I don´t use Total Commander but Resco Explorer...
I think that was usefull for many users.

Once more thanks for the first german Win 6.5 rom I found.

QuickGPS seems to have a Problem. After downloading the satellite data, it shows the following message:

Datenaktivierung fehlgeschlagen - Die Ortseinstellung muss aktiviert sein, damit die aktuellsten Satellitendaten für die Beschleunigung der GPS-Positionierung genutzt werden.

"Ortseinstellung" (local setting - for Home-Weather) is activated...

BTW: Nice work!!

But how can I change the backround picture in the maps tab? I'm not into burning naked ladies. I already managed to change the backround for home and the other tabs but the google tab seems to have it's own backround picture. Where can I find it?

With "Ortseinstellung" Home Weather isn't meant. The Problem is that you have not allowed HTCGeoLocalizationService to use your localisation data.
You one have to start google location from it's tab and allow GeoLocalization. Then it will work...

The Filenames of the google tab backgrounds are HH_LOCATION_MAP_**.png (** = 1-10 and BASE)

I think a light ROM Version is possible but I think we will concentrate our support to the Manila-Style-ROM. If this is OK for you, I think I could post it tomorrow.
BTW Titianium seems to be nessesary for WM 6.5 and everything we could delete have been the Themes/Skins so it really would be light not clean!
