Unlocking the Droid?

Is it possible to buy the Motorola Droid from Motorola's website and unlock it to use on T-Mobile? If so, what would be the disadvantages? Like I've heard you can do this with the HTC Hero but you won't receive 3G.

You need to read up on your technologies first to understand certian things about phones . Not trying to be a dick but it will help you a whole lot.

If you buy the Droid off the moto site you will most likely get a CDMA version, and CDMA is completely different from GSM.
