Default apps wont close

I just flashed to fresh Rom 0.6b and I also use advanced task killer now I kill everything except my messages and mail app. But I can go back 10mins layer let's say and more apps are running and I never opened them. I can't figure out why if its the Rom or the task killer? killer? Sent from my HTC on the Now Network from Sprint!

I noticed on my Stock Unrooted Hero that apps would run constantly by them selves even after a task killer cleared them. I think its the joy of our provider hijacking the phone and telling us what we want.

i use an app called taskpanel, it is one of the only task killer apps to have an auto-killer, you can set it to 5, 15, 30 ect. minutes and it will close any app that is opened, it is also good cuz if you have an app in the foreground it wont close it until you finished

The main thing that custom roms were first addressing on the CDMA Hero are those programs that like to run in the background.

For instance... Sprint Navigation launches automatically when you get a text. I assume it has something to deal with the fact that you can text someone a location straight from Sprint Nav and it will show up in your Sprint Nav.

My personal opinion... stop using task killers. Honestly my phone became much happier when I stopped. I feel that the phone actually runs better when you aren't constantly terminating applications that aren't ready to be closed. Just let the phone do it's thing and uninstall your task killer programs.

I understand and agree about the task killers but if i have sprint naviagation running in the background all day long since i text alot my battery is going to drain down and not really gonna let me last the entire day. so what do you recommend in that situation...? or is there no solution to that yet?

The easiest recommendation would be to remove sprint navigation. There is also a great app out there called "Autostarts" that will let you view what starts when. You can go under sms and disable sprint nav. However that program hasn't worked for me since the 1.56 update. It still sees everything and tells you what starts when but if you actually try and disable something it just locks up.

ok thanks for that, and I love the blue themed you added for the rom, anyway you can come out with one that has pink replacing the blue because my girlfriend is dying for that..just a request of different colors would be cool.
